Publicity Photos: Peer Analysis

During class time I looked at 1 CD cover and 2 Magazine Adverts created by A2 Media Students the previous year, we spent time looking at the covers and evaluating them.

1. 'In My Zone' (CD Cover) [IMAGE HERE?]

WHAT WENT WELL:

- Photographs suited the genre
- Costume suited the genre
- Good use of colour scheme to convey genre conventions
- Technical skills in post production

EVEN BETTER IF:

- Post production overshadowed the artist, so would be better with a little less post production.

2. 'Bittersweet' (Magazine Advert) [IMAGE?]

WWW:

- Good posture for the artists relating to genre.
- Effective use of post production on background/font/extras
- Location relates well to the genre
- Good use of make up for genre
- Clear research into genre conventions relayed in the work

EBI:

- a real 'Brand Image' was created for the artist.
- More post production was used on the publicity image of the artists itself.

'Madelyn Faith' (Magazine Advert) [IMAGE]

WWW:
- Off centre shot fits the genre and the artist image.
- Continuity in the advertising campaign
- Costume conventional to genre
- Clear research taken into genre conventions before constructing the advert

EBI:

- Better composition of the artist's body within the frame
- More attention to finer details
- More post production to enhance the photographs.
